Civil War Encampment
July 9-11, 2010
Wander the grounds at Lane Place to learn how Civil War soldiers camped. “Enlist” in the Army and you will be issued a uniform and musket for pictures. Your one-year enlistment papers are yours to take home for a souvenir. Visit the medical doctor’s tent and walk through the military street filled with tents. Listen to the “pay call” as soldiers are paid and the “ration call” where they receive rations. An exciting and informative court martial will be held on the grounds. Ladies who serve as laundresses and cooks will be busy at the civilian camp. Stop by for an informative and fun day for the whole family. Talk with the re-enactors. Questions are welcome.
